YAY for me!

Merry Merry......

Hi Everyone!

WOW! Is everyone ready???  We have been having so much fun with our friends and family. I just have to share that we had snow yesterday in Redondo Beach. OK, don't go checking the weather channel, it wasn't the kind that falls from the sky :)  My hubby, my oldest and the neighbor gathered about 5 guys and they took their trucks down to the local ice rink and filled the back of their trucks with ice. They brought it all home and built an ice track in the front yard so the kids could sled and play in the snow.  I know it probably sounds so silly to some of you that can walk out your front door and see piles of snow but for us, it was really a thrill. I'll have pics later I just haven't had time to download anything. I've had this card on the computer and thought I would share it I love this little guy!

I'm sure this will be my last post until after Christmas so I just wanted to say...
Have an absolutely marvelous Holiday and I hope that all of the special times created become sweet memories for the New Year!
Merry Christmas to all of my fabulous friends, I appreciate you all so much and I am so thankful you follow my blog and I have somewhere/someone to share my hobby with.
May God Bless you and your families!

Patches of Pink Design Team Post and link up party

Hi Everyone!

Well guess what time it is.....It's time for Patches of Pink Design Team Post and link up party.  This month the designers were asked to create something with a Christmas theme.
Today I have an ornament to share with you. I created this little snowman using my Gypsy and the Cricut cartridge Doodlecharms. I cut two snowmen at 5.5" and stamped the outside with the most adorable Peachy Keen Face stamp PK-485. Next I stitched the two together leaving the bottom open and stuffed him with some cotton. I glued on his hat and glued in the ornament string between the hat and snowman and then added a scarf. The scarf was actually cut from my son's flannel shirt that he grew out of :) I used some buttons and added some stickles to them.  Just a tip if you want to make one of these , stitch in the ornament string when stitching the two pieces together. I think it would look better, mine looks a tad bulky at bottom of the hat.

Side view, so you can see how puffy he is:)
Please stop by and look at all of the fabulous design team projects and then link up your Christmas creation to share your project with us.

Reindeer Tags

Hi Everyone!

Wow, thank you for all the sweet comments, they are all so wonderful.
So, the women's dinner was sooo much fun! The guys did a fabulous job, the church looked AMAZING and oh my goodness the food was incredible! The gift exchange was so much fun!!! I ended up with three ornaments in the bag I received, someone was extra generous!

Well I am just trying to put the finishing touches on my decorating and even started wrapping presents when I realized I don't have the right color tags for some of my wrapping paper. So off I went....
Here is what I came up with. I had put the tags together and then saw a great idea over at my sweet friend Lisa's Blog.  She used a punch for the top and bottom of her tag. I had to try it. Also, that beautiful ribbon is from my dear friend Karen at little scrap pieces.  This ribbon is so fabulous!!! I can't say enough about it!! I LOVE it!
I'm entering these in a few challenges:

Whimsical designs - Christmas/ Winter - Include something sparkly (Embossed the punch with glitter powder)
Bitten by the Bug 2 Winter frolic tag - Of course if you don't have this cartridge, please feel free to join in and select any tag and Christmas image you have. I used TBBM

Christmas is love...

Hi Everyone!

Every year our church holds a women's dinner. It's so much fun, we get all dressed up and the men of our church cook, serve and (the best part) clean up. We also do a gift exchange of an ornament.  I created a pillow box for my ornament.  I created the box using the Cricut Cartridge Wrap it up and just hid the image on the box.  I really had to stretch the box so it would fit the very large ornament. Sometimes when creating boxes and bags it gets a little tricky re-sizing, but I'm happy to say that when re-sizing pillow boxes they come out perfect! I cut a cute label from the Cricut Cartridge Storybook and Stamped the sentiments from Stampin Up which I purchased from Nikki

Snowman LOVE

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are having a nice day. I recently won a challenge over at Cindy's Scraptastic Designs.  The prize was 3 of her fantastic designs.  Well, the digital stamp world is super new to me in fact this is the first time I have ever used one on a card. It certainly is fun! I did purchase a few copics (boy are they pricey) but well worth the price. I have a question for some of you pros out there. When coloring close to the lines my ink tends to bleed through/past is this due to the type of paper? Just wondering. I know I have plenty to learn and shading is a bit harder than I thought, but I just think it's so fun to practice :)
So here is my card using One of Cindy's designs and I'm entering it in a few challenges.

Scraptastic Monday Challenge - No Red, Green, or Gold
RCC Tuesday Challenge - Let it Sparkle
Whimsical Designs - Layer It

Have a great day!

I created my own buttons by wrapping twine in a circle. I used 3 girl jam ribbon and placed it behind the handle just to add a little "something" to the bag! I printed the sentiment placed it on the tag and added a cute border to the bottom of the bag with decorative scissors. Hope you enjoy!

A Candy Apple for you!

Hi Everyone!

Wow! I've been busy working...which is good but I miss my "Me" time.  I have made quite a few projects this past week but I've been getting home after 6:00pm every night and I just don't like how the projects photograph using indoor light. So here is one project made for the CWC Challenge - Fruits, Cornucopia, or Harvest. Now, my boys have been asking me to make homemade candy apples for years for Halloween and every year we get so busy I just go out and buy a few to hand out to their special friends. So this year I thought ok maybe I'll make some cute tags that will encourage me to make them.....but no go. Well here are the cute tags for another batch of store bought candy apples :)
These cards are about 3" x 3".  I welded two apples together using my gypsy and the Cricut Create a Critter Cartridge.  I just hand cut the caramel drip and added glossy accents.

The tag is from TBBM and the mini popsicle sticks I found at Micheal's in the kids arts & crafts section.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Tea for three!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all had a nice weekend! We were in San Diego visiting with family! We have a cousin who is playing on a Hockey team in Texas and had a tournament in San Diego this weekend so our whole family went to show our support! I have to say the team is AWESOME! They swept the entire tournament. Go Rhino's

My little group of friends always celebrate our birthdays with a lunch or dinner, it's just so nice to get together and eat and laugh.  I have a friend who's birthday is December 22nd and it's just so hard to get together around this time so we either do it early or late :( So last night I got this great idea with the help of the Simply Sunday  Challenge over at Getting Cricky. A tea party! I will just be three of us, the other two will be out of town :( So I came up with this shaped teapot card. I didn't want it to be too Christmas themed but still wanted it to be festive. I used some doodlebug paper that I won a while back from Paula at More than Favors, it's so pretty!

I am entering this in the Simply Sunday Challenge - It's tea time and the Wacky Wednesday Challenge - Buttons, Bling or Brads

I also used lots of stickles.

Patched of Pink Link Up time! Halloween Theme

Hi Everyone!

It's my favorite Thursday of the Month! It's Link -up time over at Patches of Pink. The theme this month is Halloween.  I really wanted to create a home décor item. I decided on creating blocks that I can display on a shelf.  I started with 3.5” blocks that my sweet hubby cut for me, and then adhered cardstock paper and letters.  I used fast finish decoupage to finish the blocks. I love the results but I will say that I had to redo the doodling as some of the lines made with the white gel pen turned yellow, next time I will just do the doodling last.  This is really a great product, it's tack free and the finish is really smooth!
I added a few little details that matched my theme and I really like how it turned out.

Please pop over to the Patches of Pink blog and have a look at the creations this week, They are sure to WOW you!
The letters were cut using the Blackletter Cricut Cartridge

This adorable little spider is from the Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge

This cute little bat is from the Simply charmed Cricut Cartridge

This is a paper rosette made for a .5 inch strip of DCWV paper.

Thank you for stopping by and please link up your Halloween project at Patches of Pink.
